The Broken Yoke!

What an incredible time of fasting it has been.. Giving up (whatever it is you have fasted) and in exchange received moreeee of HIM!!! WOW!
Isaiah 58 has been a wonderful time to learn more about his fast rather then our own notion of fasting! Something that really encouraged me this week was:
Verse 6:“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

How amazing is our God, he unties the yokes!!! So that we can be set free! Wahoo finally, freedom from those things that have held us bound. Free from the lies, free from sin, free from the past, free from those nagging things that keep trying to attack! I know sometimes though we can grow very acquainted to those yokes, especially when they have been a part of us for so long, maybe a particular lie you believed or a habit you became very accustomed too? Sometimes it can even be tempting to go back to those yokes and become best friends again, BUT not only does he untie us from those yokes, HE BREAKS THEM!!!! Once he has untied them we do not have to go back, we are free and can move forward and embrace true freedom!

I pray today that what ever yoke you have bee untied from, allow him to BREAK it, when its untied it not meant to be hung in the closet so we can come back to put it on later. He wants to untie it and break it! Today as he continues to untie may you enjoy seeing him break it too pieces, and as you give him those ashes enjoy his beauty!!!

Like the song says “He is here, he is here, to break the yoke and lift the heavy burden”.

Lessons I learnt from the guy with the long name (Mephibosheth)- You Are Not Forgotten.

In 2 Samuel 4:4 we are told that Jonathan had a son, he was only 5 when Saul and Jonathan died. He was already lame, then he was dropped by his nurse and became crippled in both feet, his name was Mephibosheth. That was all that was mentioned about him and then the next chapter goes on to another story, I was wondering why was this chapter with this unfortunate information put there, I thought it was quite sad, a crippled orphan. But then I remembered God always has a plan and when we read on a few chapter later we get to see that amazing plan in 2 Samuel 9:1.
It’s amazing that David was so adamant on finding someone from Sauls house to show kindness too for Jonathan's sake. When the servant tells Kind David about Mephibosheth, David wanted to see him at once, and at that moment Mephibosheth went from being FORGOTTEN to REMEMBERED and KNOWN

God had NOT Forgot Mephibosheth and  used David to remember him,
In verse 7- David told Mephibosheth he would:
1. RESTORE- All the land that belonged to his Grandfather Saul.
2. ALWAYS SIT at the Kings Table.
3. His Sons & Servants WILL BE BLESSED.
Mephibosheth had called himself a dead dog because this is how he felt and could not believe he had been remembered!!!

Maybe today it seems like you have been forgotten, maybe it seems like a situation has gone from bad to worse. But I pray and believe today:
1. You will be remembered
2. It will get better
3. You will be restored
4. It will go from great to excellent

Sometimes it may seem like family, friends & people left you behind and went ahead of you. Or maybe you just feel forgotten and like you don’t matter or your dreams and hopes don’t have a future. Maybe there has been a particular on going struggle or situation. It means Gods victory is going to be greater. I pray today someone will look for you to show you kindness and remember with God you are NEVER FORGOTTEN!
